Well, we are back (did we ever leave??) for another year, and it is c-r-a-z-y.
BGHS is half-wired.  Thanks to a lot of support from the rest of the technology staff, we got the primary academic wing of the building done before the first day, but I still have to patch the rest of the building.  That means making sure computers that haven’t seen a network in 3 months get all of their software, windows, and AV updates, some of which I already know will fail.  Fun fun.
Found out this morning that the NAS server that hosts student home folders crashed.  I got it up temporarily, but I’m now in the process of creating a new VM I can migrate the data to.
We’ve been hit by a virus in the past few days that is killing people’s cdrom drives, and who knows what else.
Still have to configure the new Enterasys wlan switch, new BGHS Xserve, new BGHS SAN, new BGHS and BGJHS network multifunction printers which need to be installed on all faculty workstations, new Image for Win7Enterprise, new Office2010 installation, and a host of other things that are currently backing up in my queue.
Gotta love the first week of school!
